Welcome

I am so glad you took the time to visit our website. Rhonda and I want you to know how welcome you are here. I have a sense of wonder just looking around and seeing what God has done, for our church has been shaped by one miracle after another. The book of Psalms says, “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.” New Life Christian Center is living proof of that scripture. From the natural foundation of this ministry…it’s been a work of grace through faith.

From our family to yours, we extend a warm invitation for you to look around, visit our site and join us at one of our services.

Living The New Life,

Pastor Bryan Matthews
Pastor and Founder

Our Pastors

Pastors Bryan and Rhonda Matthews

Bryan and Rhonda Matthews are the senior and founding pastors of New Life Christian Center. They were married on August 29, 1981. They are the proud parents of one child, Carter who is 14 years old. Pastor Rhonda serves as the praise and worship leader.

New Life Christian Center began in February 1995 when Pastors Bryan and Rhonda Matthews answered the call of God to open a youth outreach center in Augusta, Georgia. Before long, parents were seeing such an evident change in their teens that they started attending the youth services along with them. With such tremendous growth, Pastors Bryan and Rhonda saw the need to begin having services to meet the needs of the entire family. They began praying about starting a church that would cater to all age groups, and in August of 1995, New Life Christian Center was birthed out of prayer, fasting and faith that God would meet their every need.

Statement of Beliefs

At New Life Christian Center, we believe:

We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as being verbally inspired by God. They are the supreme and final authority by which all human opinions, creeds, or conduct shall be tried and judged.

We believe Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is both true God and true Man.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitute sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His blood shed on Calvary’s Cross.

We believe in water baptism. We follow the example of Jesus by being fully immersed in water. We also baptize according to Matthew 28:19: In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ who has ascended into Heaven, and ever lives to intercede for us.

We believe in the rapture of the Church and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

We believe that all who have received by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit and have become children of God and members of the Body of Christ.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, a second experience subsequent to salvation, for believers who have already been born again. The baptism of the Holy Spirit anoints the child of God with power to witness, and supernatural strength to live the crucified life.

We believe in healing, deliverance, and prosperity for the whole man: spirit, soul, and body.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the manifestations or gifts of the Holy Spirit as taught in the Scriptures.

Our Vision

While our looks have changed, our vision has not. That vision is to raise up believers to share the love of Jesus Christ with the people in our community and the world. Our goal is to teach the Word of God with simplicity and understanding so that it may be applied to our everyday lives, as well as train up our church from the youngest to the oldest, to be sensitive to the leading and voice of the Holy Spirit.
